In an effort to promote environmental responsibility, residents of Busabala recently came together for a successful community clean-up drive. The initiative, led by local youth and supported by the LC1 office, targeted heavily littered areas around public spaces and the lakeshore.
Over 50 volunteers participated in the one-day event, collecting plastics, clearing clogged drainage channels, and sweeping community roads. The campaign raised awareness on the importance of proper waste disposal and highlighted the need for long-term solutions

Community members expressed their appreciation for the unity and energy of the event. Plans are already underway to make it a monthly activity and involve schools and local businesses in future efforts.
“This clean-up is just the beginning,” said Sarah Namatovu, one of the organizers. “We want to turn awareness into action, especially among young people.”
